All of our teachers at the Greenville Yoga Center try and modify their classes to accommodate all levels of students who are in any particular class. By providing modifications to various postures based on the student abilities, the student, whether beginner or experienced, will feel comfortable in any class. We also have a page of helpful Yoga Resources.
Ashtanga Yoga -- a style of yoga designed to build strength and stamina. At the Greenville Yoga Center Ashtanga yoga is integrated with other styles depending on the composition of any particular class. Generally, if you've got a lot of energy and like to sweat, this is for you. If you're a beginner or are nursing an injury this might not be for you.

Kripalu Yoga -- This yoga is practiced in three stages. In the first stage, the emphasis is on the breath and proper postural alignment. As a student advances, the poses are held for progressively longer periods, eventually building toward a more spontaneous, self-motivated movement. In the final stage, students are encouraged to perform whatever postures they choose, rather than following a specific sequence. This is a gentler, more flowing style that does not demand a high level of physical conditioning at the outset.

| Pre-Natal Yoga -- Prenatal Yoga classes provide a safe and supportive environment for expectant mothers. The classes help ease pregnancy, delivery, and the after effects of birth by creating flexibility, focus, and strength through a gentle yoga practice. Postures are modified especially for the needs of the expectant mother. Proper breathing and meditation techniques create emotional balance and reduce stress while supported postures allow for deep relaxation. These classes are a wonderful way to connect with other expectant moms in a healthy way. |
